Our Manifesto
We are not anti-car.
We are pro bike!
We have cars too.
But parking can be hellish.
And the bus is just too crowded.
And walking too slow.
Cycling is not just about getting somewhere or what gear got you there. It brings back a freedom we first knew as kids. When you cycle, you notice things. You're closer to the world around you. You feel the wind on your face. You notice subtle changes in the ground under your wheels. A place that you thought was flat when in your car, you discover is a subtle steady uphill instead. You see the slow gradual change in seasons and plants - like a single leaf on the ground so that you know fall is coming.
It’s also a health thing. Cycling is just plain old good for you. After a bike ride, ever notice how great you feel? You just can‘t feel sad or depressed. That’s because the prolonged, continuous exercise of cycling releases endorphins – so you feel happy. What better way to beat that feeling of stress from too much work and not enough play?
And if you’ve never done a bike trip, fit at least one in your life. You will never feel so free when traveling. You go where you like and stop when you want. Shouldn’t life always be like that?
